Calm

Despite an ominous-looking start to the day, it cleared up quickly and we headed off along the south coast of the island as far east as Machrie. There we sampled the delights of the tearoom and I was immediately transported back to the 50s. Not that I was around in the 50s, I add, but it was all very quaint and lovely.

The sun shone down on the south and so we headed back to base camp. This is the view from the garden; nothing like having a front row seat for all the comings and goings of the fishermen and swimmers.

The quaintness and fifth row seat continued into the evening with a trip to Whiting Bay hall for 'Death by Fatal Murder', a nonsensical farce which was actually very amusing in an am-dram kind of way.
