Tracking down Talisker
A beautiful day, it seemed perfect for a picnic on the beach.
We set off to try and find Talisker Bay, but the lack of roadsigns led us in the wrong direction. What we thought looked like an idyllic bay from a distance turned out to be full of detritus and dung, with mudflats where the beach should have been. Still, we enjoyed our picnic in the sun and George invented Poo Golf.
When we finally found what we were looking for, the beach turned out to be a combination of smooth stones and black sand, with headlands on either side.
After spending a couple of hours on the beach, we walked back along the valley where an eagle flew directly over our heads. Some people with binoculars, who seemed to know their stuff, said it was a Sea Eagle - which made it even more exciting.
A brilliant sunny day, with glowing faces all round as we sat in the Old Inn at Carbost.
