Peace At Last

The Paul Buchanan gig last night was excellent, a stroll through The Blue Nile's small-but-perfectly-formed back catalogue - and a very rare event. "I wish I hadn't stayed home for the past ten years," as he put it.

A really celebratory show, there was loads of affection and banter between the singer and his audience - especially whan he finished with Old Blue Eyes' Strangers in the Night. "Gaun yersel'!" someone shouted halfway through it, making him lose the plot completely for a few seconds.

For me, their song Peace at Last really stood out. Found myself singing it all the way along The Shore this afternoon.
