Thistle Down

I Want To Write

I want to write,
About things I've done.
And things I've heard,
And things I've won.
I want to write.

I want to write,
About joys and sorrow.
About those friends,
I tried to borrow.
I want to write.

I want to write,
About lilacs in bloom.
About bright colors,
And their rich perfume.
I want to write.

I want to write,
About life being given.
About the spirit coming forth,
From the realms of heaven.
I want to write.

I want to write,
Sweet words to use.
By the touch of my pen,
With no abuse.
I want to write.

Family; This is a drawing Grandma drew and included in her poetry book. The rose is an old-fashioned variety from my yard. I also like that it shows how she signed her work.
