A bit of steam
Unit EC 5 is undergoing a so-called "C.I.", a Combustion Inspection.
This has to be done every 8000 running hours.
We replace the burners and other parts involved in the combustion and do some other repairs and scheduled maintenance.
So we shut off the unit from the rest of the units; this is the auxiliary steam coupling to the other units.
It is shut off by a electically driven valve (seen in the back, through the steam) and a hand-driven valve.
The stuffingbox is leaking a bit but that's no big problem now....
As you can see every valve which is used in the safety routing is labelled and is locked.
The leaking valve from a few days ago is in repair now too...
Look here.
