You can't judge a record by its cover # 1
An unplayable 7" single designed by Hamish Kilgour from the legendary New Zealand band The Clean as part of the 15th anniversary celebrations of the NZ record label Flying Nun in 1996. The label commissioned a number of their artists to do etchings and label art for 7" singles which were then pressed up in limited editions of 250 and put into plastic holders with no other cover art. I kind of like the fact that it's a record that can't be played - as many vinyle junkies will tell you, the format itself is a work of art.
The Clean played Europe earlier this year - you can vaguely see Hamish on drums here.
