Young swallow
I walked from St Margaret's Hope to the shore of Widewall Bay at the Oyce of Quindry, along to the Oyce of Herston, then over the hill to the cliffs near Murka Hole. Along the edge of the cliffs were lots of common blue butterflies. They are an amazing colour, and I always smile when I first see them
I walked around the peninsula and then back to the village. The sky was nearly all cloud; I only saw my shadow once or twice. In occasional breaks in the cloud cover, the sky was a delicate blue, paler than the butterflies' wings.
Back at St Margaret's Hope, this young swallow sat on an old boat and let me eventually free my camera from its bag under a rain-cover and take its portrait.
