From the tomb
This is taken from the top of the 5000 year-old chambered tomb of Maes Howe.
On the lower part of the photograph curves the henge that surrounds the howe.
In the distance is the Loch of Harray.
Near the red-roofed cottage is the Ness of Brodgar where a dig is going on right now. They have found some very interesting things.
The tomb, the standing stones and stone circles are, in a way, memory machines. And they functioning.
