Gorge-eous
~backblip~
Hoho, bit of a pun there.
Our unexpected detour yesterday turned out to be a blessing in disguise, because today was one of the best days so far. We managed to find a hotel in Grasse, Provence, famous for its perfume, and after a quick flick through the guide book replanned our journey to Calais.
Today we decided to visit the gorges of Verdon, a huge canyon carved through limestone, with stunning green water down below. Today was a real driving day, winding round the edges of the cliffs, a proper wrestling match with the car at times! I loved it, even though being in a right-hand drive car made visibility on the tighter bends a bit ropey...
It was a great day for landscape photography too, but I thought this holiday snap of Ian and me in front of a gorge was sweet, we don't get many photos together :)
