WAX ON.....WAX OFF

Sam, the Painless Pole (see July 20th) has been having a clear out at home and brought a collection of candles to our fishing cabin. Since the local hooligans torched our cabins, totally destroying one, badly burning the second and causing smoke damage to the third, we've been working hard to repair the second one which we use as a classroom for coaching and as our brew room. Its been relined with wood panelling and painted white inside, now we just need shelves and a sink unit. However we haven't yet had the electricity restored, hence the candles. In reality we don't need them as we're never there in the dark but if Sam's wife says we're having them we're having them!

Roy has a thing about candles, he can't leave them alone, always fiddling and cutting bits off and that means wax goes everywhere. I think there's a touch of pyromania about him really. As you can see from the shot the collection is varied but Roy stands them on the little table we use for repairing poles that the kids damage. You can also see that Roy likes to drink tea while mutilating candles, as evidenced by the cup rings!

It's a good job we don't eat in there or provide food for the kids because I'm sure we're just one step away from Salmonella!
