Sleepy Cherryblossom

Yep, still pouring with rain in the Highlands.

This was taken outside Tore Art Gallery where mum and I were nosying about today. It's 'Highland Open Studios' this week which is something organised every summer by Inverness Art Society and means that you can go and visit the artists listed (in a very handy 'HOS' booklet) in their studios. Also a lot of the galleries have artists in residence or have provided space for artists to be painting there on certain days.
It's great to go along for a wee look and a chat and a really good opportunity to watch some some of the folks whose work we have been admiring and steal a technique or two. Tore was a bit over-run with 5 different painters in today - and some guy playing a piano which was a bit random!

Unfortunately I was feeling quite dejected about my own painting abilities (just slapping paint on a canvas does not an artist make....) before I even left the house, so looking at all these amazing pieces did nothing to brighten my spirits!
*sigh*
Back to the canvas.
