Never too old to RAWK!

There's a neat public art project going on in Saint Paul. It's called the University Avenue Project (www.universityavenueproject.com). Hope you check out this link. I think you'll find it inspiring.

Anyhow, University Avenue is the major non-freeway thoroughfare linking the downtowns of Minneapolis and Saint Paul. The University Avenue Project is the brainchild of photographer Wing Young Huie. Part of the deal is a summer-long series of community-building outdoor gatherings featuring a diverse collection of local music makers. Tonight, it included a sing-along lead by a pianist and a chorus of residents from Episcopal Homes (the senior community at which I work).

Our folks were a MAJOR hit with the crowd! They got everyone singing and clapping. After returning to their seats, they were just as supportive of the act that followed: a Hmong rapper!
