Industrial England
Or at least it used to be.
It used to be the chimney to a factory that formed part of Kidderminster's rich carpet industry.
It is now the chimney to Frankie & Bennie's in the middle of a retail park.
But at least they kept it and didnt just knock it down. Because, even though it is an industrial building, it is beautiful - the brick work is rather special. And this n a town that knocked down the lovely old library because they said it was 'cheaper to knock it down and start again'
Interestingly Ive always really REALLY disliked Kidderminster and avoided it whenever possible. But when you look more closely, particularly above the shop fronts, there are some interesting features.
Now there is a fascinating mix of old industry and new retail and I think I'll be heading back to snap some more fairly soon.
