Gable Erratic

FAR TOO YOUNG

..... to be out on his own.

We went to RSPB Saltholme in Cleveland today to see a Whiskered Tern which has been around this week, and then walked round to the bird hide. This tiny little fluffball of a thing, about and inch and a half tall, scrambled onto the windowsill of the hide and just sat there. One of its siblings was cheeping madly and trying to do the same on the other side of the hide. Goodness knows what instinct made them seek out human beings, but I hope they make it. They were thought, by birders more experienced than we, to be baby Sedge Warblers.

Later we drove to South Gare via the Transporter Bridge, which was childishly exciting! Choosing a blip for today was extremely difficult because I had photos of the bridge, a gorgeous blue butterfly, and a Dragonfly, but my little fluffball won the day.
