Thistle Down

By Ethel

Wickedness

Down through the wicked ages,
Men have killed.
Through far-flung wars and rumors,
Blood has spilled.

To please their God,
Men have given sacrifice.
Thinking God would favor them,
They gave this human price...

Most horrible...the guillotine,
No matter how they pled.
The one accused before them,
They took away his head.

Gas chamber fumes...that floated,
A shameful thing to hide.
Masses forced in line,
And stayed inside...and died.

Most terrible...of all,
In "Abortion"...of records piled.
Is taking the innocent life,
Of an unborn child.
