Welcome Scout!

Today was Saturday School at Loren's middle school, so we got to meet all of his teachers and hear about what they are going to be learning this year. It was chaotic with parents from 6th-12th grade there but we managed to wind our way through the hallways and to each of his classrooms. Landon was not on his best behavior at the school making it a bit difficult to concentrate on what the teachers had to say. Liam was at the skate park with Cody & Linda.

We surprised the boys with a trip to San Andreas to pick up a yellow lab puppy. Boy were they in shock! They asked all the way up there what we were doing and we really had them going with all sorts of crazy stories about what the adventure was going to be. When we got most of the way there, we stopped for lunch at Burger King and they were all excited thinking we took them to a Burger King with a bigger playland. I thought that was hilarious. Why in the world would we travel 45 minutes to go to Burger King? We kept saying stuff like 'I hope the gear they're providing us is safe enough and that the straps hold o.k. for all 3 boys' and 'There was only one casualty years back when they were perfecting it' and 'Did we remember all 3 of their helmets?'. They didn't know what to believe. I think as parents you can take the liberty to mess with your kids from time to time...plus, they know us by now and probably figured it was all a scam.

Once we got to the house they thought we were just visiting a friend even when all of the puppies came running out. They said 'What cute puppies' and kept walking around without a clue. I finally had to tell them to stop moving and to look at me and I told them 'You're going home with that yellow doggie today'. They just looked at me like I was still messing with them. Loren even said "You're just messing around, right mom?" It was a fun trip back with Scout making his way from boy to boy in the minivan. I felt so bad leaving behind Scout's mama and brothers :( Thank you Cyndie for this beautiful 4-month-old puppy!
