Just like Scotland
We did the usual Mount Aso route with Fi today, which means driving through some of the most spectacular volcanic scenery in Kyushu. Beautiful beautiful drive, and the prerequisite horse ride for M. This spot, where they do the horse riding, is called Kusasenri no Oka, and it's the closest thing to the scenery of the highlands that I've found in Japan so far.
Always makes me a touch homesick.
And then M got scarlet fever the next day, so I'm glad we got our drive in before we were grounded.
