Dai Urnal-Instants

Behind you!

It's not yet Panto season though the weather feels a little chillier than it has under recent blue skies. Still, it hasn't affected the hardy Lions of Bath, nor the tourists that visit our Georgian splendours.

This example of Panthera Sulis is 'Lions of Communication', by the artist Ted Smith.

Expect no tawny howl, more a tawny roar from this tawny Lion of Bath.

Nor is he baud; indeed he appears very interested indeed in a three course meal laid so attractively before him. And then he'll find room for Busby with the cheese and biscuits.

'Lions of Communication' was badly wounded by revellers within twelve hours of his initial appearance in The Circus. They spent the rest of the evening with the local constabulary but 'Lions of Communication' didn't make it through the night at Bath's Lion Hospital; "sadly, there was no hope for the little fella", and the Lion you now see before you is a new made beast, installed over the last weekend.

He takes his rightful place as the second Lion of Bath patrolling the south western curve of The Circus, joining 'Lion de Fleur' whose territory extends to the east.
