so today we visited some old family friends who my dad previously described as "the best bakers we know" i've never met them before. they're friends of my grandparents. sure enough. best cake i've ever had. make that cake(s). it was nice to see some of my grandparent's old friends and how happy everyone was to see each other. apparently my dad hasn't seen them in 20 years, which sounds insane but time moves incredibly quick.

on a lighter note, my brother and i went out for some sushi. first rice we've had on the trip, in all honesty. i missed it a LOT. on the way back we noticed this banana spray painted on the wall.
