Along the veggie trail

This is the Newmarket Community Garden. Area residents can grow a patch of veggies, fruits, or herbs but have to donate some back to the food bank and volunteer a bit of time. We were checking this out as an option/activity for next year because we are in a townhouse and have only a tiny patch of dirt which is loaded with flowers (we can't turn it into a veggie patch, anyway due to rules and too much shade for the plants). I snapped this photo at a cat's perspective (about a foot off the ground). The image was taken in colour but I liked it better in black and white so that's what I posted. I like the way the posts mark the plots but are not perfectly straight. They are a bit wonky like people and like nature herself. The tomatoes are ripening and the beans and the corn and...it is all delicious. Saturday: the apples await...
