That close...

Gazing up at Ratho's Hangar Wall, the wry smile and hand gesture say how close the attempt he was watching had come to success. But close isn't close enough on a route- so it's back to the beginning for another go.

As we were heading home from the climbing wall, James and I stopped to buy some food for tea at the corner shop. There were two cars stopped ahead of us- one with a buckled wheel, the other missing a front far-side wing. Close. Too close on that occasion.

I find life a balancing act. There are so many good things to do in life that deserve to be given my time. There are so many good causes that deserve to be given my resources. There are so many good people that deserve to be given my attention.

It's a challenge make good on the right choices: To make good on the right promises: To see the right things through: Not to be left only that far away on those things that really matter. It's a challenge to respect all the different priorities and privelidges of life, so that in you they are built together, rather than brought to collide.

In a world of choice, I'm sure it's not just me that gets distracted in those key moments, and who is often left thinking "It was that close...". And it's not just me who struggles to make sense of the very different worlds they inhabit at different times of the day and the week...

So it's back to the beginning for another go.
