Shard London Bridge

I'm not a lover of modern buildings, but this is replacing one of the ugliest buildings in London, I briefly worked in the old building which was built in the 1960's and boy was it a dirty ugly and depressing (everyhing inside and out was grey). The Shard (designed by Renzo Piano an Italian architect best known for creating Paris?s Pompidou Center) will stand at 310 m tall and have 72 floors and a further 15 radiator floors in the roof - this may be modern but its a big improvement on what was there. Its actually pretty amazing to see progress almost daily.
