Ripple in Still Water!
It is raining for the past two days and I am in no mood of blipping! We have just reached the mid of the Monsoon Season and I am praying for the rains to stop! The floods in the country have affected more than 2 million people, villages and towns are still under water. Just feeling too low and down at this natural calamity.
In the evening, I went outside with my camera in hand, not really looking around in search of something interesting. Lost in my thoughts, I noticed ripples appearing as I stepped into a tiny puddle of water created by the rain. Ripples attract me. They are very magical. How a tiny drop spreads and grows in form of capillary waves in every direction.
It is not an amazing shot but the only reason I decided to put this blip was the memory of the famous 70s song 'Ripple' by Grateful Dead (American Beauty (album)). Not that I was born in the 70's! :))) I used to listen to my father's collection of classics and old country songs. So, I ended up developing the taste for country songs. 'John Denver' and 'Shania Twain' are a few of my favourites.
If my words did glow with the gold of sunshine
And my tunes were played on the harp unstrung,
Would you hear my voice come thru the music,
Would you hold it near as it were your own?
It's a hand-me-down, the thoughts are broken,
Perhaps they're better left unsung.
I don't know, don't really care
Let there be songs to fill the air.
Ripple in still water,
When there is no pebble tossed,
Nor wind to blow.
Reach out your hand if your cup be empty,
If your cup is full may it be again,
Let it be known there is a fountain,
That was not made by the hands of men.
There is a road, no simple highway,
Between the dawn and the dark of night,
And if you go no one may follow,
That path is for your steps alone.
Ripple in still water,
When there is no pebble tossed,
Nor wind to blow.
But if you fall you fall alone,
If you should stand then who's to guide you?
If I knew the way I would take you home.
La dee da da da, La da da da da, Da da da, Da da, Da da da da da
La da da da, La da da, Da da, La da da da, La da, Da da.
You can even listen to the song 'Ripple' on youtube.
