Assumption

In truly Roman Catholic countries, the Feast of the Assumption is, of course, an important Holy Day. In modern France, 15 August is more of a holiday. But, being France, the other sense of 'Feast' persists!

Here you see the tail end of our own lunch in the apartment. We had already eaten some exceptionally good Paëlla (maybe I can show the source later in the week). Now we just have the Bordeaux wine, beautifully runny Pont l'Évêque, Pêches Plats ('flat Peaches' ; aromatically fruity) and Iles Flottantes to go.

This is just lunch, naturally. There's still the main evening meal to come after an afternoon on the beach!
