THE GREAT WALL OF RAMSGATE
I had another day off today (hurrah!)
My friend Maria was in London, en route from Brazil to India. I spent the day with her and her wonderful family in Westgate-on-Sea. I was in a mad rush to make the 0922 from Victoria - the buses were the slowest buses ever, and all the traffic lights were on red! I made it with minutes to spare, and had to buy my ticket on the train. Then there was the worry that I was sitting in the wrong part of the train, as it divided in Faversham...
Maria's father-in-law, Norman, took us to Ramsgate, where artists are being encouraged to produce panels for a 1,000 foot wall. The panels celebrate Ramsgate - past, present and future. There were some fantastic pieces of art, including one of a Spitfire (see previous blip). Norman is working on a panel as well.
