todays field trip found us in an old quarry. you see northeast michigan sits atop bountiful deposits of limestone. more bountiful that you can really imagine. luckily, the old limestone quarries are amazing places to find fossils. just scattered everywhere. remnants of the days when a shallow warm sea covered the state.

these are the two main leaders of the workshop, taking a bit of time to do a little fossil hunting.
