the workshop i have been helping with this week has 2 main sections. field trips in the morning to places teachers could utilize for projects and classroom setting learning in the afternoon. a wonderful mix for the teachers.

this morning was particularly exciting as we went to an undeveloped state park just north of town. an amazingly diverse place most of the teachers had never been to. cobble beaches, coastal wetlands, an amazing coastal fen just filled with pitcher plants, countless unique plants, awesome wildlife. how wonderful it was to see the teachers get so excited when they realized what rare and fascinating environments we have so close to home.

best of all, the wildflowers in these coastal habitats are just as stunning as they are unique.
