Disturbance at the Heron house..........
This is where I went fishing today with my mate Colin.
Heron Fishery in Culceth, Cheshire.
As you can see it wasn't exactly busy, in fact for the first 2 hours there was only one other guy on the lake.
There certainly wasn't a disturbance, apart from my quiet celebration each time I caught one of the big Bream. It was a good day 21 bream and 2 carp!
There could have been a disturbance though because Heron is beside the notorious Risley Remand Centre, known locally(and probably nationally) as Grisly Risley. It used to be a male/female Remand Centre but is now a category C prison.Risley has a very poor record, (largely due to a policy of housing sex-offenders with other prisoners) with regard to suicides , self-harm and violence.Allegedly gangs almost rule the prison (the gangs pay £50 to new members!!!) and 60% of inmates take drugs.
All in all not a nice place! Yet right outside the wall this haven of peace and quiet.
By the way the factory in yesterday's blip, I found out today, used to be a dye works for the textile industry.
