Reflections of the way life used to be....
Took this shot while out fishing today.
It's of a place called Red Bridge. There's a bridge there but it's not red, maybe it was in the past?
This is the factory chimney beside our fishing lake. I've never seen smoke coming out of it and I've lived near for 31 years.
The factory itself isn't there any more.....the buildings are and there's lots of "little" businesses in them.........., but as for the big factory, which I'm guessing might have been a cotton mill, it's long gone.
One of the bussinesses makes that peculiar card/fibre paper that makes the covers of passports, certainly all EU passport covers are made there and maybe other passports as well. As you can imagine security is quite high, which makes it all the stranger that they allow us to park outside the main entrance. Perhaps a bunch of anglers don't look like international forgers, i don't know, or perhaps it's just because they take water from our lake for their process, so they have to be nice to us.
Any way the shot just seemed evocative of times gone by and on a nice peaceful morning by the lake your thoughts turn to all sorts of imaginings.
Pssst, any one wanna buy some passport covers?
