Roller coaster

Each day we hope to see a significant improvement for Mum but it isn't like that. I wish it were. We see the combined effects of anesthetic, other drugs, pain, lack of sleep and setbacks. I'll be heading home Monday night and I wish it were different.

But there are positives and they're worth acknowledging. In the photo you can see Mum's watch is on her wrist and done up. A couple of days ago there was too much fluid to even get her watch on.

This afternoon we tempted Mum with food from home and that was good to see. The chocolate mousse was a big hit. Not Mum's usual diabetic fare but for now it's about getting food into her. Tomorrow we'll take more mousse and sandwiches with smoked salmon and cream cheese (she particularly requested more mousse :-)

It's hard, it's a struggle, it is for all of us. But somehow you put one foot in front of the other.

Thank you for your comments and support. I passed the collective blip comments, thoughts, support and prayers onto Mum. "People are so kind" was her response.

And you are. Thank you. I read all your comments and I'm moved to tears by them. Each one is appreciated, it really is.
