Hot, hot, hot
The British. We're not cut out for this. We go out in the midday sun, we get burnt and when we're nice and red we look for the shady places. This is how it goes. You can see us everywhere in the world where the sun shines.
Today we covered up well after our glacier burning of yesterday. SPF 40 and wide brimmed hat were the order of the day and it worked well - imagine that! We had a short(ish) day of 10 kilometres and reached the summit of Faulhorn at 2681 metres above sea-level. This is the stoney summit you can see ahead of the walker in the photograph. We met plenty of other walkers and wondered again if it is the sunshine that makes continentals such keen wanderers of the mountains? Or maybe it is the facilities such as trains up the steepest slopes and then refuges and mountain huts when you get there? Should we have more of this in Scotland? Would it help with our obesity problem? Lots of unanswered questions......
