Last Day of July

I am actually posting this blip on the 22nd of August. We had been away for a while on a nice vacation in Michigan. This blip is of me and my family at my Uncle Norm's cottage on the lake. You'll see this blip for a while since I am taking a break from posting blips.

All my August photos (over a 1000) have disappeared from my computer. I have skipped the stages of extreme guilt, self admonishment, grief, and anger and jumped right into denial. I just can't figure out how I did it. I could have blacked out the entire episode subconsciously knowing how mental this result would leave me, or it happened so fast it never registered. But if anyone out there has experienced vanishing folders from their windows file manager, please contact me.

I went through the same routine I have always followed when transferring my pix to the computer. I looked at them, renamed them, then created a new file to hold them. Once I dropped the pix into my new folder, the folder simply disappeared. Separately, I noticed my "blips" folder also disappeared, yet I found it again only in Picassa. When I had Picassa locate my blips folder it showed up again in windows, but not permanently: it disappeared when I went back to find it.

I will no doubt check in to Blip central often and may post & comment from time to time. If anyone has a clue as to how to find my pix please help. S.O.S.

For now though I need time to recuperate and not think about computers and cameras.
