Unity
Today we dived the San Tiburcio in the morning - an oil tanker sunk by a mine in WWII. Fascinating wreck, but a bit deep and murky for interesting photography.
This shot is the bow of the Unity, a Peterhead trawler that was our second dive. She was built in 1975 (the year I was born!) and decomissioned in 1984. Her hull was stripped of valuable items, and was being towed to Inverness to be scrapped when she sank. She's a lovely size for a wreck dive, and fairly shallow at 25m to the seabed so it's quite light. Visibility was pretty good, and the wreck was teeming with life. A very nice dive indeed!
