A note before I give you the low down on this picture of the day: Yesterdays picture, Sat. Aug. 21, was wrongly jipped out of a journal entry after the photograph I took on Friday was submitted somehow as Saturdays picture. So here's my saturday pic to make up for it! Saturday's REAL blip here

Anyways, this is a picture of some baked custard with caramelized sugar "sauce" and fresh British blueberries. I say "sauce" because it was so hard you couldn't even break it with force, how do you make caramel sauce?? This is my second attempt and both have failed horribly. The custard itself was a recipe I found on tasteofhome.com and I didn't like it very much. it was much too eggy and not sweet enough. My boyfriend graciously ate it with delight (he's so nice) :-)

My cooking skills weren't completely deprived of its confidence tho. For the main, I tried a recipe from the back of a lasagna box for chicken and broccoli lasagna and it was pretty good! So I will be back that again :-)
