Musical Plate

While visiting a friend in the country whom we hadn't seen for a while, I was immediately struck by this plate, hung in a place of honor. It had turned up packed away in her mother's things after her death, although our friend had never seen it. I took the plate to the porch and blipped it on a birch log in the sunlight. It's Italian, marked Rampini / Gubbio on the verso (Gubbio is a medieval hill town in Umbria).
