DOWN BY THE RIVERSIDE

There were lots of good shots down by the riverside today. The woman in a bikini sitting on a deck chair reading a book, a gaggle of very young children and the damn they'd made into the river, two middle-aged women with ancient bikes who were obviously on a biking holiday, none of which I'll ever get again. But this father and son sitting on a rock jutting out into the river seemed the most touching. They were feeding the ducks but the ducks were wary because the little boy waved his arms about when they approached.

We have had, at last, a week of proper summer weather but this is probably the last day anybody will seek out the river to cool off or to relax. The forecast is not great.Riverside reading.
