Soft focus stockings.
Another back blip. Had half an hour yesterday to muck around with the camera and decided to try some soft focus shots of the daughter. Don't have a filter and I wanted to try and achieve the effect in camera, so used a tip I picked up from a book and stuck some clingfilm in front of the lens.
Then I tried some stockings. Apparently they used to be used by early movie camera men to give just that effect. Story was that black stockings gave a relatively neutral colour difference while brown warmed the image up. Obviously the effect would differ depending on the denier too.
Can't say as I've quite got the hang of it yet, but it is interesting. Would be good to try again when I don't have to use a silly ISO to get the picture.
Anyway, we had friends round in the afternoon when the son bagged a cracking photo. Was good to see them all and the curry was immense. Cheers D, but we owe you for that one!
