Just a weed

Many people see Rosebay Willowherb as a weed. Would you believe it was considered rare in the 18th century and is often one od the furst plants to repopulate burnt ground (seed remain dormant for years just awaiting their turn).

I think its beautiful, close up its flowers are very delicate yet it stands strong and tall, a feat of engineering for such a skinny plant.

The early evening back light just caught my eye this evening. I'm beginning to fall in love with this time of day. Tea consumed, kids settling down and a lovely quiet walk before the bedtime craziness and lazy night in.
