Smoke on the water.......

Ok! Ok! It's not smoke, it's just early morning mist.

Last day of the Summer holidays.
The Boss and Daughter at work.
So.... I went fishing!

Up at 5.45 a.m., picked up at 6.30, at the water for 7.15.

The first two hours of fishing were poor, not helped by the fact it was chilly in the shade.
We turned round to fish on the big lake (the one in the pic)...hey presto instantly 12-15 degrees (c) warmer in the sunshine.

The fishing was still slow , but at 10.30 some excitement. A guy walking 3 terriers cornered a mink, much barking, growling, yapping and furious digging! Mink do a lot of damage on fisheries but part of me was glad when it escaped, they are gorgeous to look at.

Then came comedy half hour.. a big splash on my right, a quick look...no Colin hadn't fallen in but he had knocked his flask in...he retrieved it and cast out....right up the tree next to him...in the effort to recover his line he knocked his flask in again, ...then I cast out....up into the tree on my left....I pulled so hard to get the line back it shot out of the tree and the hook impaled itself in the back of my hand....Colin laughed so much he knocked his flask in again!!!

Eventually order was restored and we fished the day away. Colin caught 3 big carp, I caught 1 big bream...so that evens up last week when I had all the big fish.

3.00 p.m. , pack up, home, quick coffee, changed and out to coaching. Only 5 kids turned up....of course..... it's back to school tomorrow!...they caught 6 fish between them...the gas ran out so we couldn't have a brew!

I got home in time to meet the Boss, who had been to the supermarket...unpacked the groceries, we had steak and prawn salad for dinner, watched CSI Miami and I'd just settled down with a beer ........when it suddenly dawned on me....back to school tomorrow!! OH BUTTOCKS!!!!
