Grass!

Ornamental grasses in the University Parks on this Bank Holiday Monday.

I decided on this Blip in preference to the more conventional trees, although they were generally in pretty good fettle, as these pictures show.

In general, the Parks were surprisingly quiet for a Bank Holiday, but there was quite a lot of jolly activity on the river.

Away from the visitors, we found a good crop of funghi in quite extensive clusters, no doubt presaging the advent of autumn.

These sombre thoughts were nicely reinforced a short walk away from the Parks, where lies the amazing and beautiful graveyard of the Church of St Cross.
