Last Look
Today was a day I've been looking forward to with increasing fervor over the last few weeks. It was my last day working for Tesco in the ROI. However, when it arrived, while I was eager to get home to see my family and friends, I realised how much I had enjoyed my six months in Drogheda. I also realised how much I will miss the staff and management team at the store on the Donore Road, as they are, without exception in my experience, a lovely bunch of people, many of whom I hope to stay in touch with, in the years to come.
It was another misty morning when I left my hotel for the last time and I thought for my last Blip from Drogheda, I'd photograph the Laurence Gate, this time from the town side. I Blipped it before on 15 March, which was a week after I arrived in Drogheda. With virtually no traffic, I could safely stand in the middle of Laurence St and snap away. By the way, the Doors from two evenings ago are on the side of the red brick building on the left.
It was and is an emotional day for me, but onward and upward, as they say!
My new temporary role starts on Monday in Belfast and we're off to EuroDisney Paris the following week with Sophie so plenty more Blips coming up.
Good times!
