Red Hot Poker

I spotted this flower-thing as I was leaving Bangor today on a trip to Belfast for some errands. Of course, I forgot to bring my camera out of my car when walking about town, so I lost that opportunity to Blip. So you're faced with Plan B this evening!

I've no idea what sort of flower it is or will bloom into. edit: It's a Red Hot Poker!

In other news, I stopped at the coast this afternoon where I saw a photog with something resembling a Surface to Air Missile on a tripod looking out across Belfast Lough. We got chatting, as you do, and it turns out it was a 600mm lens on one of those nasty Nikon D300 thingies. Lovely chap though; turns out he's the chairman of Bangor Camera Club, so I'll be heading along there to check it out.
