The chicks are growing up

You may remember two of these wee guys from my blip on Thursday last week, the day they hatched. They are now 8 days old and are ranging far and wide with their mum. One of the favourite spots for all our hens is where I dump grass cuttings and here mum and her 4 chicks are scratching about. Notice that they've already changed from fluffy wee yellow chicks to fluffy wee white chicks with their trademark black starting to come through on the wings (the breed is Light Sussex). I'm going to try and do a sequence of these as they grow up to show how they change, although its always a challenge getting them all in the same shot and not sprinting about :-)
