Let's do the Twist

You've probably noticed from other Christchurch Blippers that we had a bit of a wobbly old earthquake here on Saturday morning - 7.1 on the Richter scale. We're fine. I woke at 4:35am and yelled "Earthquake". My wife and I ran down the hall, grabbed a kid each and sheltered in the doorway. After the initial quake was over (about 45 seconds), we tore up to the main room and sheltered under the dining table as the aftershocks continued (some of which have been significant in their own right). The power was off, so we were in pitch black. Ironically, my wife was texting her family in the UK and they were hearing about it on the news. They were able to tell us more about what was going on than we knew. So there we all were at 4:40am, the whole family huddled together under the dining table as aftershocks continued, and my 8 year old daughter was chatting away calmly, telling us all about the Richter scale!
