Heavy metal

Lead Heron - sounds like a rock band to me.
This guy stands guard over the pond and the goldfish, but I think he's been in the same place too long as the feathered version was spotted eyeing up lunch the other day.
Spent the day doing autumnal things, collecting up leaves (the easy way with the motor-mower),pulling out tired bedding plants, trips to the tip. Did a quick dash into the nursery just before it closed to get some pansies and broad beans - job for tomorrow if the rain holds off. Need something to brighten up the grey days.
