A Bird's Eye View

Last night's Festival Fireworks were easier to access this year, but we southsiders only get the back view of the Castle, so we miss all the waterfalls of fireworks down the castle rock.
Neither his Lordship nor I liked the American film music played by the Scottish National Orchestra to accompany the fireworks. I think we would have preferred something a bit more stirring, and there were times (obviously in the waterfall sequences which we couldn't see) when I was afraid his Lordship would fall asleep on his feet.
But the climax of a sky full of exploding colour and sound, and all was forgiven.

We had a trip into town this morning to the offices of our financial wizard to discuss ways of sustaining our new standard of living, and whilst there I took the opportunity to blip these ant- like humans down below in Princes Street.

On my way home and whilst waiting to have keys cut, I discovered that mecca of some Edinburgh blippers- the Tee Tree House. When I mentioned my credentials which include the name of EcoDad I was welcomed with open arms and a hot chocolate, but not on the house obviously.
The cafe was every bit as good as has been written about in these columns. I shall return.

I'm now awaiting the arrival of my Edinburgh soul mate. This will be her first visit and we have much to talk about- stress being high on the list and husbands and partners next.
