Giubbe Rosse

Today's the day ..................... to get ready for Florence

Now that Will is a man of leisure, he is starting to get ready for his trip to Florence in a couple of weeks. He will be taking out with him about fifteen or so watercolours that will go on display at the Ristorante Giubbe Rosse in the Piazza della Repubblica from 25th September - 8th October. Exciting, eh?!

It all came about when we spent a week in Florence last November visiting our good friend Becky who was in Italy for a year writing a book. She loved this little ristorante which had often been frequented in the past by authors and painters. She asked Will to paint a picture of it - which he did. One of the waiters showed it to the owner, who liked it and eventually he asked Will if he would show more of his paintings this year.

So today, Will had some cards made of two of the paintings that will be in the exhibition. These will be for sale and hopefully people will want to buy them! Of course, one of them had to be the original painting of the Giubbe Rosse .....
