blind asylum
There's been scaffolding round this building for ages and it started to come down last week. It's the Blind Asylum building on Castle Street part of the Glasgow Royal Infirmary complex and a Grade B listed building. The sculpture is Grassby's Christ Restoring Sight To A Blind Child, 1881. I haven't been able to find out what the plan is, once it's restored, but the workmen reckon the money's run out and the inside is still to be done, not a huge surprise there then! My Dad used to fix the clock and has lots of stories about it (he has lots of stories about lots of clocks!). It would be nice to see it finished, it's a lovely old building. Busy day, I'm fortunate to work with some great people and even more fortunate to be off tomorrow :)
