Oh look at the Sun...it's all a-glow

A strange day at work today, 2 hours teaching, 3 hours marking coursework and a sad assembly concerning the discovery of the body of a new born abandoned in a near-by garden and the search for the missing mother.

I arrived home just ahead of a monstrous storm, described by the daughter as "of biblical proportions". I was going to blip it but not sure that the stair rod rain would show up properly, so I took this as a back up. Last fishing coaching session for the year. the storm put a lot of parents off but it was long gone by the time we started, so we had three children and six coaches.

It was like tag-team coaching, stood behind a child, a tap on the shoulder and someone else stepped in so you moved on and tapped in on another coach!

All that's left now is the end of season presentation and the barbie on Thursday. trophies for the winners of matches and the overall winner, little gifts for the not so fortunate and lots and lots of burgers and hot dogs. As long as the storm doesn't come back (the weather forecast for Thursday is not good). It won't be the first time I've barbied in the rain! I once did it for 44 staff at an end of year party, and dodged lightning too!

On another sad note our friend V's mum passed last evening at 5.40, peacefully, at V's surrounded by her family. I mentioned her in a blip earlier this week, her life in Russia, exile in Siberia, World War II, re-settlement in Kenya, moving to England, having to leave her home in her 80's because of a callous burglar. Maria really lived a full life and her exploits make mine pale into insignifigance, but she had a "good innings" and ended it the way she would have wanted.

Not many laughs in my blip today, but sometimes the world's just that way.

I like my blip today it reminds me that there's always tomorrow and I've got friends and family to be grateful for.
