with deceptive ease

The ability to sleep on demand would be handy at the moment. The ability to sleep on demand whilst travelling handier still, though combining travelling-time with exercising-time and clear-thinking-time is probably as much as I can hope for at the moment. Today was slightly better in terms of the ability to concentrate and I didn't yawn much or have to rub my eyes, handy when there was a meeting to discuss (or listen to someone who might know something speaking obliquely and businesslikely about) the particular definition (and the timescale of that definition's application) of the 'safe' recently applied to our team and our jobs for the time being. Hopefully by the time the time being stops being I'll be sleeping more and will therefore be in a better position to exhibit indispensability to avoid the risk of adding more financial worries to the mix.

The wingpiglet had an appointment today in which we were expecting to see the weird little lump behind his left ear get examined ultrasonically, though in the end a doctor bearing a remarkable facial resemblance to John Culshaw poked at it for a bit before declaring it far more likely to be a cephalohaematoma than a sebaceous cyst due to his age, the hardness of the lump and its immobility relative to the skull, the latter two of which we had already suspected when comparing the unknown lump to the known sebaceous cyst on the back of my own head which feels exactly the same as the one my sister had removed five years ago. Another appointment has been made to have it poked at again in another two months' time, though this time we shall be prepared and will not look faintly surprised when asked a series of questions which quite clearly indicated that the doctor hadn't even had time to skim the relevant notes before popping into the examination cubicle.
